Random snippet!!! Day one MAY!!
Hey all! yah yah... I am back... but listen, I had this great idea to do just a random snippet post. Just a short paragraph or even a long short story about anything that comes to mind. An inspirational scene to a book or even a mushy poem. Anyway... this is day one!!!! Every month I will try my best (DON'T COUNT ON A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G) to post one of these. Ok... don't worry, I'm getting into it now:
☝It all started on a grim morning on a grim day on Clink street. The air in London was thicker and foggier than any summer before it. During this grim time the children that attended Clink Academy had been sent out by their weary parents to play. It was on that very day that a fine carriage clacked through Clink street. Two horses were yoked and swiftly clicking their hooves toward a large, very fine looking house on the quietist part of the street. It was then that 4 people exited from the carriage, all looking about, with proud looks on their faces, as if to say that they were too good to be there. All except for one. A boy. With disheveled hair and grubby hands and a sad look in his eye. And it was, that all 4 people and the carriage driver stepped up the porch steps. The carriage master knocked. The door groaned open and a young maid girl, with a sweet smile welcomed them inside. They disappeared through the door and it shut with a thud.

This story truly begins as Bernard Keatley sits with his hands in his pockets, sitting in the family room with his cousins, all slouching in chairs or cross legged on the floor, listening to the adventurous tales of the oldest of the cousins, Dan. This tale was more interesting than any one that Dan had told before. The warm glow of the dancing flames of the fire place sent shadows to brush against the floor and made Dan's story even more scary and interesting.
"You wouldn't believe how many people went in and never came out! Why, there must have been a sum up to 50!"
"Where did they go?" Bernard looked over at his youngest cousin, Betsy, as she clutched a cushion in her small grubby hands. She had been asking those kinds of questions all through the evening. Her eyes held fear and she jumped and flinched at Dan's every word.
"That's where the complications come in." Dan said, his voice low and mysterious. A huge smile was on his face as he continued.
"Some believe that the trap door in that house lead them into a maze of Catacombs used by the early day Reforming Christians. Others say that the door is an opening to a hole that goes on forever. Others still, say that the door is just a small hole used by pirates to hide their treasure."
Bernard chirped up and asked,
"Which one do you believe is true?"
Dan looked him straight in the eye. Bernard noticed that they held adventure beyond any kind that he could imagine.
"I believe in a whole new theory altogether! Atlantis." Dan looked around at the group of cousins.
Larry, the bully and mischief maker of the group piped up.
"Aww... this is all a bunch of rubbish. None of it is true."
Larry being the bully knew what would make everyone do what he wanted. He had a group of bullies that usually just did petty things to the younger children, but this was the perfect cover story to use for a new sort of scheme that he was cooking up.
Dan yelled,
"If you would just listen maybe you wouldn't think so."
Dan sighed and clapped his hands down onto his knees.
"But I'm sure that you all are too tired to hear the rest..."
Every one of the cousins whined in apology and begged him to continue on.
"Oh all right. But no more talk of rubbish.''
Everyone nodded and looked eagerly at Dan.
"The theory Atlantis is no older than 100 years. But it holds more truth than any of the others."
Larry rolled his eyes, the sort of roll he used when he was trying to make others believe that he was right.
"The tale goes that if you brush away the dust from the door, the word Atlantis will appear on it. Once you have done that you must quickly unlock the lock that had been clicked into place as you brushed away the dust to reveal the word. Next you must carefully open the trap door and go into the dark cave beneath. Once you are inside you shall close the door and continue you way through the tunnel. Once you have done all that it will have set you up to be shot from our world into a completely new one!"
"Do you really think so?"
Bernard questioned. But before Dan could answer, Aunt Lashinda walked in with a dish towel and plate, vigorously rubbing away at it.
"Now that is enough Daniel. Anyway, it probably be time for bed for those weary, frightened children now."
She ordered the cousins away to bed, just after kissing her own two little ones.
Bernard trudged up the stairs along with everyone else but stopped to meet Dan.
"Dan. Do you really believe all that you told us?"
Daniel stopped to tousle his cousins hair before answering.
"What you believe is who you are. So as an individual, you must choose who you want to be........
